Most of the time Craig runs Utah Membership Elk hunts and when he is not doing that Craig participates in Youth Hunts. In fact Craig mentored my son Adam at the 2009 Youth Hunt. That was an event with no equal; it was run by Richard Roskelly, Guy Perkins and we had a wonderful chef Larry O. Fisher. More than one Youth shoot an Elk on that hunt and the guys and gal. Learned a lot about hunting, skinning, tracking and shooting. I seem to recall that 4 Elk were killed by teens.
Craig and I had the privilege of hunting Hillside Ranch last week, It is in Northern California and is a hog hunting paradise-no feeders, no fences just free running piggies. Hillside Ranch is where Glory Hogs 2 was filmed. If you don't have the DVD it is available from Stalker Bows.
On the first afternoon and evening we saw lots of animals and had some really good stalks. Later in the evening Craig comes around this thicket and hears activity; pretty soon he makes out the shape of a hog and brings up his bow-the arrow is away and pierces the sow through the spine. Stillness; followed by some sounds of an animal in dire straits. Craig makes out the shape again and this time the arrow penetrates the heart. He and a young helper haul the animal out and down to the waiting jeep. It was dark by that time and it was only by some dedicated efforts that we made the recovery so smoothly. Congrats on a fine kill and good recovery. The next day Craig and I processed the critter in the kitchen before my wife got home.

Dan,

I'm gonna' guess and say that this is one of the vertebrae from the first shot and he took the wooden shaft out of the glue on head. I don't think the broadhead failed.
