Is there a PBS Code for special rates or anything we can enter when reserving the rooms on their website?

Ron,

Just call the hotel and tell them your coming for the PBS gathering. I called last week. We get a special rate of $134.00 per night for a room or $234.00 per for a suite.

Just made my reservations, the reservation # is 904-940-8000. The # posted above is an extension for an individual at the hotel and I only got a message center.
On our way to Florida. :P

How many fellas bring their ladies down to the convention? My wife is on the hook but I still have to reel her all the way in.

Not sure the % but maybe 50 or so from year to year? I've never taken my wife but plan to this year.

My wife couldn't care less about hunting, but seeing as we are from Michigan (long cold winters), as soon as I mentioned Florida to her, she was going (especially since it is her Birthday weekend). She is VERY predictable.

First time and going alone. My wife really doesn't care about hunting or anything other than how she is going to fix any meat in the freezer and how much to cook for guests. ;) If she went I would feel need to entertain her and spend time with her rather than in the seminars and such....as she has no interests in things offered and that is not a bad thing. Just like I could care less about going to a Bottles and Brushes or Arts and Craft get away with her.

If your spouse is a bowhunter or even a hunter themselves...it will be more enjoyable than if she has no hunting desire at all and is only going to be with you. I dont want to get into the predicament of having to choose between hearing Monty or meeting the Wensels.....and going with wife to the Pottery Barn or beach....and disappointing her. 8-)

Tracy went to the last banquet and enjoyed it. If she can get coverage she will be going to St. Augustine as well.

I just wanted to mention again that I am looking for someone to share a room with. I will be flying in from Phoenix on Thursday and will leave Monday morning.

Link to make your free shuttle reservation from Jacksonville:

https://www.ectjax.com/pbs-transportation-link/

East Coast Transportation 24 hour office reservations number, 904.525.8600.

Members MUST make a reservation for the free shuttle. If the times don't fit their needs, there are also reasonably priced private options listed as well.

Still trying to figure out if we are going to be able to make this one. That is a hectic time of the year after the Kazoo Expo. Need to decide soon so we can make plans.

Here's a little incentive, Dave...would you rather be bundled up in your big boots, snowmobile suit and gauntlet mittens running your snowblower and hoping your drink doesn't freeze or, hanging out with a few hundred bowhunting friends while wearing shorts, flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt while sitting on the hotel veranda while drinking something tropical? ;)

Ron,

All of the banquets I have attended, Friday and Saturday nights kind of ruin the gauntlet in attire. You can certainly get by with decent jeans and a casual shirt. Some folks wear a jacket and tie but by and large I think the majority wear something like khakis and a button up shirt.

If you wear business casual you will be neither overdressed or underdressed. The ladies tend to dress up a bit but as others have said it will run from blue jeans to jacket and tie.
