The conservation committee is reforming, with a new set of goals and an emphasis on “boots on the ground” conservation work. We’ll be working closely with the regional program to identify opportunities for members to get involved with worthy conservation projects in their region. Look for more updates on the committee’s new organization and structure in the upcoming issue of the magazine………

Right now though I wanted to let everyone now about one such opportunity coming up this Spring. April 24-26 the Rocky Mtn Goat Alliance will be hosting it’s 2nd annual Black Hills goat survey. This would be a great opportunity for some PBS members to get together and help out a worthy cause.
More info here can be found at: https://goatalliance.org/2015-black-hills-survey/

I wish this were closer to my home turf. If you’re interested and think you might be able to make it post up, and if we can get a few folks I’ll get in touch with RMGA and let them know a PBS delegation is on the way.

Thanks!!

Great Dan. I don't have the specifics but there is some stuff happening with bison in Alaska as well. Here is the link:

Both of these sound awesome! The goat survey is at a great time to be in the Black Hills...might even be some huntable turkey's nearby?

Thanks Rob! That Bison project is worthy indeed, and just the kind of effort we need to highlight.

If anyone has any other knowledge of important projects that could use a hand feel free to send them my way. As we get the system more streamlined we'll then reach out to area members through the regional program.

I might know someone from that neck of the woods. That timing might work well with a turkey hunt in the SW part of the state down by Norris.
