Hey guys. I'll be heading to North Texas the the first week of March to hunt Aoudad. I've never hunted them before so I'd love to hear any advise or tips from some of you that have experience with them. Right now my plan is to hunt them like I would a mule deer and get up high and glass, then hopefully finding one in a stalkable location and make my move. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Aaron I'll be watching this thread and looking forward to your hunt report. I've always that Aoudad were really cool looking and I'd like to hunt them someday.

I've not hunted them myself, but from experiences shared by others... GOOD LUCK. They have extremely good eyesight and are extremely hard to stalk.

I have not done this hunt myself but have looked into it. Talked to an outfitter down by Alpine and he felt that the only way I was going to get one is to sit a water hole like you do for antelope. He talked about how good their eye sight is and that they are mainly in family groups making it very hard to get inside 30 yards. I would not feel comfortable shooting any further I told him. Best of luck to you and please post your adventure here for all of us to read. I leave on Tuesday for Texas from Michigan, doing the BPS pig hunt in Benjamin.
