I was a work looking at old e-mails from a freind/Mentor this was in his last e-mail i got from him. he has been gone for 4years,

What i like about BowHunting

Bird songs. beautiful songs from Vereos and owls and jays.
the whisper of the wind in the trees; the song of rain drops on leaves.
The song of the elk. The bleat of the deer; the popping of the jaws of a bear.
The song of my tires on the gravel as I approach my parking spot. The song of silence as I stalk to where I hunt.
The song of the spring peepers; the little frog we hear and rarely see. too: the memory of the song from the past: the string vibrating after a shot.
The song of the bowhunter as he becomes part of the thickets and forests-its a song in his heart.
This sound squeeks in the ears of the elk hunter as he struggles to get up huge ridges in his efforts.
The sound of the campfire.

your friend, BK

Craig,
Thanks for sharing. The older we get the more reflective we become and your friend's thought were spot on and something we all can relate to.

I'd like to second Doug's comments. "The older we get the more reflective we get."

Your friend was obviously someone who understood what it's all about.
