Hey guys, my friend and some of yours, Nick Klintworth from Nebraska is sending his wife and kids to Alaska this summer while he cut hay. Nick has the archery only hunt in Nebraska several of us have hunted his turkey at. Nick in the past has donated a turkey hunt or two to PBS I believe.

Can anyone recommend a reputable outfitter his 14 year old son can bowhunt bears with this May or June in Alaska? Bait hunting is preferred. Ryan his son is a dedicated bowhunter and outstanding young man. any help I would greatly appreciate it thanks joey

Ryan is one of the coolest kids I've ever met and just tore up with bow hunting. I'll always remember him sitting around the table at night just soaking our stories up like a sponge. He is going to love that trip!

Larry, there's a bit of a difference between brown bear's and black bear's :o! Yote has never guided specifically for black bears in Alaska, but has guided a number of brown bear hunts. It's nice of you to consider him though.

Ryan IS a nice young man. What really got me to liking him was when I asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up. He replied, " Work"

Way to go Steve. Let me know when he's around and I'll get him out on a little adventure if he has time and wants to.

I spent a bunch of time last night lining the Klintworth's out on options for their adventure. Looks like it will be Mom, and two teenage boys. Just the younger one, Ryan will be hunting. I bombarded them with ideas of things they might consider including side trips on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry, charter fishing, kayaking, a rafting trip down a canyon, Alaska Railroad along a portion of the Iditarod route, etc. They will be up here from about June 4-14ish, prime black bear time in this area in my experience.
