Took a young doe last night. Nothing to write home about. 16 yard shot and she went about 75 yards. Short drag. Should be tasty table fair. 7 days left in the Iowa season. Sounds like some brutal weather for the next few days. I'd like to put one more down, but it isn't critical.

Gene, you did well! I'd write home about it lol! My season has sucked as far as meat goes, but it's nice being blessed to get out when I've been able to.

Good work Gene. I'm with you, would like to take one more but I think my good luck mojo from earlier in the year has worn out. Combines, Bobcats working with reverse beepers right at deer thirty have screwed up my last few attempts.

Deer season is over in Michigan but rabbit season is going strong.

My girl Polly ran one close enough that even I couldn't miss!:

Way to go Gene,

That doe will be fine eating and I don't know about you but Its hard to hear the tree stand calling when it's below zero!

I went out a few days ago and the deer were elsewhere. I tried predator calling to occupy my last half hour and successfully called up a huge cat..........Barn cat that is...

Mick,

That's the dog photo of the year.
I look at that picture and all I want to do is rabbit hunt.
Great pictures of what looks like a fine day in the woods with your best friend.

Shot this fine hog on 14 January, while still hunting, I spotted a sounder of pigs feeding and closed the distance and waited for them to feed past me. As they began to close the distance I slowly backed into a dry creek bed and waited as one after another passed my position at about 15 yards, I waited for the last one to step into a shooting lane and picked a spot, released and watched as my arrow sliced through her. The 190gr El Grande made quick work of her and she was dead in less than 30 seconds and 40 yards.

Nice going everyone. Mick I'm trying to get a snowshoe hare. Not as easy as I thought. Can you send Polly out here. I'll feed her steak every day!

This is a good start to 2015, good job bowhunters. I have 8 PBS hog killers joining me in GA next week, surely we can add to the meat pole!

I shot a 20# turkey gobbler on April 23, the last day of my season permit In Illinois. He had an
8 1/2" beard and 1 1/8" spurs on both cankles. Shot him with a Robertson Overdrive t/d longbow, cedar arrow and Woodsman broadhead from a ground blind.

Shot my first turkey 5/2/15. Bearded hen. Brad Jensen longbow from PBS auction. Eclipse broad head eight yards. Took me long enough. Tasted like chicken. Soup from the leftovers today.
