Jim, not sure about a Busseron Babe. He was about an hour North of Vincennes near Sullivan.

20 years to draw the tag and with the state of our Moose herd I was tickled to notch my tag. Hunted solo for 2 weeks and found this young bull. Not real happy with the photos but I was feeling a bit rushed. Dynamite hunt.

In case anyone was wondering, no I did not shoot all my arrows. My tripod uses arrows for the legs. 8-)

Hey Terry. I was referring to Busseron Creek. It flows east to west thru Sullivan CO. Sorry if I was too vague.

Way to go, Terry! Looks like a freezer full of meat in one day. Love it!

Rob, I'd take that moose any time. Good job. And thanks for clearing that up about your empty quiver, LOL!

Congratulations all!!

Jeff, would you mind if we post your VA buck on Grizzly's facebook page? Assuming it was one of your Grizzly's on the business end.

Charlie, it almost looks like that bull mouse was heart shot - the best place to shoot a charging mouse!

Rob, you gotta provide a thread with lots of details and photos, man! Nice bull.

I took this 3.5 year old nine point on our property. It was bitter sweet because I couldn't find him and a fellow PBS'er came over with a tracking dog the next day and helped me find him. I had been within 20 feet of the deer but didn't see him in a blow down on the creek bank. The coyotes had gotten on him overnight and and ate 3/4 of him. This has never happend to me before and I'm really sick about it.

I was practicing at the Family Farm in WI with my younger Brother who I don't get to hunt with enough. My dad was complaining of the damage mice were causing to the cabin. This one ran out and stopped slightly quartering away on the side of the tree at 12 yards. Wind was good. I drew concentrated hard on my spot and let the string slip from the fingers.

53 lb at 28 inches. Big River 59 Kodiak Replica. Short Blood trail and a 12 yard Drag back to the cabin. Was considering a head mount but used the mouse as bait. Nothing came to the bait during my 6 day whitetail hunt.

5 more mice were seen on this trip but since they were not in or near the cabin, they all got a pass. I will say the deer hunting was incredible with very close encounters with Giant Rut Crazed Wisconsin bucks but I wasn't able to seal the deal. Getting them in close doesn't guarantee a kill with a recurve. No broad heads were launched but Memories were made to last a lifetime.

Here is one that I had at 10 yards looking for a fight. Believe it or not, I called him off a hot doe, Twice!

Its the one on the left
Image

This one came in minutes later to 12 yards, I hadn't stopped shaking from the first experience yet

Image

This one busted me at half draw.

Image

Anyhow, Back in NY now and still about a month to bloody a whole arrow on public land.

These are my biggest trophy pics of the year and I didn't shoot.

Me, my dad and Brother sharing in my little brothers success.

Image

Me stumping and checking cameras with my Brother.

Image

My best friend and I who shared a hunt during my visit. He killed a buck, I couldn't get a shot at. he doesn't get out much with 3 kids under 5 so he took it for some meat even though he has a QDM property 30 minutes from where we hunted this morning.

Image

I enjoy getting to hunt with Family and old Friends more than killing any Trophy Critter. I consider this season a huge success even though I have dragged everyone elese's deer out of the woods.

I first thought I made a bad shot on this guy. I waited for an hour before getting down to look. It wasn't necessary though, it was a good double lung hit and he only went 45 yards. I've been really blessed this year with a full freezer, and outstanding memories!

Nice buck Gene... Ethan you definitely have the horseshoe this year. what do you say you head on over here to Virginia and take out a few for me. I have an empty freezer currently and would like it restocked before Jan. I can't seem to hold my mouth right, seeing plenty just nothing close enough for a shot.

We empty freezer guys just got to be patient, and persitent and something will come by that wants to go to the food plot in the sky.
I have seen a spike, half rack 2pt,half rack 3pt with only 3 legs,a huge 6pt not legal an 8pt and numerous other small ones at 70yds none within bow range.
I passed a nice high racked 10pterbut I was doing 70mph on I-79.
Ethan and Gene and everyone else nice deer.
