The first of three does I shot last weekend, during or late season deer hunt. It's a half mile drag to the truck and I didn't make the time to take pictures of the other two. Pigger just keeps putting the critter's down.

Congrats Walt. Our season is still in here in Maryland until the end of January. I would like to join you in doing the same thing laying down 2-3 more down before the season ends.

Thanks, I love these cold weather late season hunts.

However, I'm guessing Steve is refering something that might be a little more exciting than treestanding whitetails.

I took this doe January 1st about 10 minutes before legal shooting light ended. She came bouncing into the woods after scurrying across a field. She'd went past me, but luckily turned around and came to about 25yds before I mouth grunted her to as stop as she started angling away. The Simmons Tiger Shark made quick work of her as I heard her crash not 50 yards away. Tall Tines 60" recurve 50@28(pulled 29 3/4). I was also pumped to get to try out my new Swafford Custom Knives Mountain Lite knife. What a blade(my first custom knife) and a beautiful evening to be out. Thank you Lord!

Bill Peterson and I did some arrow flinging in Iowa yesterday. Here are the results. Bill used a Morrison recurve that in another life belonged to John Vargo. Bill has taken a P and Y whitetail, P and Y antelope, a mulie buck and several other whitetail bucks and does with it. He said to tell John, "Thanks." The doe I harvested was the 5th deer this season that fell to the same Woodsman broadhead. Unfortunately, I have not yet recovered the broadhead. It's under the snow somewhere. Maybe I'll find it in the spring and go for 6.

who we left unmolested and later another female who was in pretty rough shape from having a coyote trap on her right hind foot. DNR gave us the go ahead to bring her in and they gave me a new tag. I shot her with a Robertson Fatal Styk, 72#@28" and home grown cedar arrow. God Bless Montana.

Congrats Guys!
Walt if I shot 3 deer in the woods I hunt I believe there would be 2 or 3 left, our deer numbers are LOW here in Indiana. May have to start looking into out o state just to fill the freezer.

Good show Richard. Get her off that bush infested island?

Have to say the head gear looks non-standard though. :P

Yes I went back down to Stewart Island, was a really good trip and we ate like kings from the ocean and bush. yea the headwear is pretty out there for sure! But thats the whole point of it I guess, I wasn't the only one hunting that block so it better to be safe and seen. That bit of bush in the photo was quiet nice compared to other parts of the block .

It's looking like 2014 is going to be a great year for the Meat Pole.

nice pig Jeff, where's your hat? Ron glad to see ya'll didn't let ol' Jeff shoot all the pigs.

Bryan that's a cool looking pig, especially with all the snow.

Walt, Matthew, Brad, Gene and Bill nice job on the deer!

Dan hope you can get back out and tag a nice big tom now. Where you able to use the meat since the coyotes had been nawing on her?

Moose, good job mate! I know you are happy, you worked mighty hard for that deer.

Thanks Rob Burnham. I had to give her over complete to the Game Cop to get another tag. He wouldn't let me keep even a claw.

Rob Patuto, We tagged another female last weekend near St Regis and two Toms the week prior. One of the group treed a monster Tom last week, but didn't have a hunter.

We will try it again this weekend and I will post some pics and maybe some video.

I'm not sure why Steve O hasn't posted his turkey on here yet. He's got it hanging out on tradgang though.

Gary Rieck was having some issues posting his pictures on here so I told him I'd post it for him. Here's his story:

Gary Rieck wrote:
This is my first turkey with the bow. I have been trying off and on with the bow since the middle 1980's . I have taken quite a few with a shotgun. He weighed 23 1/2 lbs, 9 1/2" beard. 2 year old bird. He was broadside in full strut trying to intimidate my jake decoy. Shot him at 7 yards. He went about 25 yards before collapsing. I think I went a little "Fred Eichler" when he went down. Used the knife I got at Cincinnati for my turkey picture as an "artsy" photo. The bow is the Bear "59 reintro, I purchased last year.
