Warm weather has moved in and slowed things down. Most sightings are just after daylight and before dark. Heavy acorns and persimmon crop this year, so food sources are great now.

McAlester draw hunts are in process through the second week of November. These are traditional only, bow hunts on an Army Ammunition Plant. Its around 24,000 acres. The application deadline is May 15 each year handled through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife, online. Its a great opportunity for a trophy buck. Their not behind every tree but several are killed each fall. The hunt starts on Thursdays with 5 hours scouting time, then all day Friday, Saturday and until noon Sunday. They have some strict rules as one would think since a military base.

We now have bear hunting in southeast OK. This is something I will explore next fall, its a short season but decent numbers of bears makes it better than average.

Antelope numbers in the panhandle are low due to the severe drought that's been going several years now. Its a tough hunt out there but we have few big ones to pursue. I had a friend shoot a 83"er last fall.

That's all for now. Will try to include periodic updates
